We have heard it every day from the time we where babies in the highchair....."Eat your Vegetables"! We all have heard the reports that we don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables each day! We all know that fruits and vegetables are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals, are low in fat and just plain old good for us! Did you know that you can also get all of the protein, calcium and other important nutrients you need from green leafy vegetables! What is even more amazing is that green leafy veggies have been proven to make your body more alkaline. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic body environment which is made by consuming too many acid forming foods such as meat, grains, dairy and other highly processed foods.

GREEN SMOOTHIES!Yes its that simple, throw some bananas, some spinach, and some mint for zing and blend add water to you desired consistency, smell and taste test; maybe it needs more fruit or perhaps more greens (as much as tastes good is how we do it). Pour yourself a big ole glass or throw it in a quart jar and put it in your lunchbox and you will be in for a delicious treat that ensures you are getting your daily minimum out of the way!
