My formal training in Yoga began in 1999, when I meet Didi Ananda Gitiimanjusa, a Yogini Nun from Ananda Marga (a global spiritual and social service organization). At this time I was also a student at CSUC with a Major in Religious Studies, my focus on Eastern Religions, Minor in Native American Studies & Women’s Studies. Didi’s mission was to teach yoga and meditation to everyone who was interested...for Free! I soon became an avid student and member of Ananda Marga and from 2000-2002 I was president of the student group Renaissance Universal Yoga Society.
During this two year period I participated in various retreats, Karma Yoga events, yoga and meditation trainings, a summer long internship including facilitating a discussion entitled “Empowering Women in Social and Spiritual Organizations’ during a women’s retreat at Ananda Dhiira in Penn Valley. My responsibilities as president of Renaissance Universal Yoga Society included organizing, leading, coordinating and occasional teaching.
I continued my personal practice of yoga which inspired my love of health and healing. In 2005 I opened my own Aromatherapy business and in 2006 I became certified in Massage Therapy. My passion for Yoga was still with me and after much personal and spiritual growth I released the mental blocks that kept me from my dream of sharing/teaching Yoga and became certified through Beth Shaw’s YogaFit program.
I live my Yoga everyday, I am walking a path of awareness , I approach Yoga with an accepting, flowing and loving perspective. I am always growing, learning, aspiring and inspiring! My love of Yoga is my reason for teaching, so that those who want it and are ready can realize the beauty of self love, acceptance and growth that comes from a joyful and PRESENT yoga practice.
I teach a loving, PRESENT, inspired, flowing class, that includes mantra’s, mudra’s, vinyasa, meditation and energy flow. I am blessed and honored to share my love of yoga. With much Gratitude, wishes for Peace and acknowledgement of our Infinite Light I Bow to You,
Namaste
